Our Tools

We are well versed in the latest tools and techniques in conducting in-depth interviews, ethnographical observation, focus groups, and quantitative surveys (self-administered, telephone-based, and online).

For our qualitative work, we go beyond the traditional focus group set up. We utilize observation techniques, consumer diaries, in-depth one-on-one interviewing, and highly interactive respondent engagement techniques.

When it comes to quantitative studies, our skilled researchers are experienced in conducting sophisticated data analytics using univariate and multivariate analyses - including multiple regression, factor analysis, multi-dimensional scaling, cluster analysis, and conjoint analysis to more standard techniques like cross-tabulation.

When appropriate, we rely on our proven, proprietary qualitative and quantitative research tools. These include:

SIR Feature Optimizersm

SIR Feature Optimizersm is a proprietary, factorial survey approach SIR developed to measure how people make real-life choices. While similar to conjoint analysis, a study using our SIR Feature Optimizersm approach can be implemented much more effectively and cheaply in both telephone, and self-administered studies. SIR Feature Optimizersm helps our clients get the "biggest bang for the buck" by revealing which combination of potential product attributes will have the broadest appeal in terms of price, features, add-ons, services, and other special benefits.

SIR InterFeedbacksm

We co-developed a powerful, flexible online survey system we call the SIR InterFeedbacksm System that is now being used by other leading research companies. The real power of the SIR InterFeedbacksm System is its flexibility.

Our clients can collaboratively participate online with their SIR Project Director in the creation and refinement of their online survey. And, during the fieldwork stage, clients can view results live, online, as they come in.

Topline reports with cross-tabulation by date make data come alive throughout the survey process. Some of our clients even download interim data to Excel for quick internal reporting needs.

In addition to hosting typical 30 to 40 questionnaires, the SIR InterFeedbacksm System can be used for concept and copy testing where images in any stage of completion can be embedded in the survey. When we test concepts using visual images, the SIR InterFeedbacksm System can randomly rotate the visual stimuli across the respondent base to avoid order bias.
