Laura Turner Reid
Project Director
Laura brings years of marketing, market feasibility, and marketing research experience to SIR. She manages all aspects of the research process, including project planning, research methodologies, fieldwork supervision, data analysis, and the reporting and presentation of research findings.
Prior to joining SIR, Laura was a Research Associate at Media General, Inc., a multimedia company concentrated in the Southeastern United States. While at Media General she designed, implemented, analyzed, and presented telephone, online and mail survey research for the company's metropolitan and daily newspapers, weekly newspapers, magazines, online enterprises and broadcast stations.
Also previously, Laura was a senior analyst at Economics Research Associates (ERA), an international consulting firm. Based in ERA's Washington, D.C. office, Laura performed market and financial feasibility analysis for public and private clients in a range of industries, including tourism, recreation, retail, and real estate. She specialized in market and demographic research and analysis, geographic information systems, and financial analysis to assess the market and financial feasibility of proposed projects and expansions of existing facilities. Laura began her career in marketing for a national association in the Washington, D.C. area.
Laura received her Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. When she's not running SIR's most recent research project, you might see her running around Richmond. Laura is an avid runner and marathoner and also coaches the YMCA 10K Training Team for the annual Monument Avenue 10K in Richmond.
